I've been in the entertainment business for 10 years and this was the first time I witnessed some of south Florida's top elite promoters, disc jockeys, website(s), photographers, graphic designers, publicist, business owners, sound engineers, even dancers all in one building supporting one true purpose!
On Monday November 1, 2010 a special tribute was done to celebrate the life of one of South Florida's most respected man, and a true Metronome, Dwayne O'neil Kirk Nelson. He was a friend, a brother, a son, a father, a mentor and a true "Metronome." His life was taken so suddenly on Sat. October 16, 2010 in Kingston, Jamaica. Though it is unclear of what really happen and why, but sad to say this tragedy has brought so many together. There was no fuss, no "who's better then who" it was just good fun, extra tight hugs, a few tears, and pure laughter for a man who spread nothing but positivity.
Dwayne truly lived the life of a metronome and set the pace just like an actual metronome. He paved the way for so many in this entertainment business today! He was so educated, talented and gifted with the true meaning of art! Explaining his true talents will take a million words!
I know Dwayne had a big smile on his face because for a long time he wanted an event like this. An event where people who are in the business can come out to mix and mingle. Thou it happened in a tragic manner, honoring him will always be memorable!
